Jasper National Park/15AUG03/Forest Fire/Syncline Ridge
The Syncline Ridge Fire was the largest forest fire in Jasper National Park since 1889 and had an area greater than 250km².
It started as part of a prescribed burn in May that in late July flared into a wild fire due to high temperatures and winds. The fire burned throughout the summer.
